Avastring: How It Works

The Basics

 

  • There are 11 dimensions in total, represented by the buildings
  • You need to earn Exp. pts to unlock higher dimensions
  • There are several ways to earn Exp. pts through interaction
  • Exp. pts are awarded daily
  • Your searches only include members inside the building you are in
  • Higher ranking members can enter lower dimensions

 

Terminology

 

  • Avarank = member’s current rank 0 – 10
  • Avarating = member’s current rating 1 – 5
  • String = comment or reply
  • Stringers = followers = friends
  • Restring = share

  • Completed Home tab
  • The more Stringers the better
  • Interaction within Private & group chats
  • Avaratings – receive 4 stars or better
  • Private chats – the longer the better
  • Selecting the action & emotion buttons during private chats
  • String – creating new posts
  • Starting at level 2, each time you level up your Exp. points will be multiplied by your current level

 

Penalized actions

  • 2 stars or lower peer rating (You’re able to delete comments)

 

Profile

 

Home

  • The picture box on the Home tab is for viewing purposes only
  • The Zip Code field is optional, and is currently optimized for the US
  • Fill out the descriptive items below and receive +100 experience points (one time):
    1. First and last name
    2. Gender & age
    3. Select a status
    4. Pick 4 – 12 personality traits in the Pick some section

 

Comments

  • You are able to delete any comment
  • Deleted comments will add to your # of deletions
  • Your average Avarating and # of deletions are public
  • Deleted comments will not affect your Avarating or Exp. pts
  • You are allowed to edit feedback you provide to your friends
  • All ratings will be public
  • You will only receive Exp. points once for original content creation
  • Only your friends can provide feedback
  • You must click view profile>comments in order to leave feedback

 

Buddy List

  • Create a new group for your friends by selecting the Add Group button
  • Selecting more than one check box will activate the group chat request button
  • Start a private chat by selecting the chat caption
  • Use the add to list filter button to reorganize your friends
  • Remove a friend by selecting the red circle icon

 

Gallery

  • If public, your default image will be seen by others when searched for
  • During 1 on 1 chats, your avatar’s default picture will be your default image
  • You can select any emotion picture box as your profile image (except the lazy image)
  • The lazy picture box will be displayed to the public if you do not have a profile picture
  • The Emotion gallery is for head shot pictures
  • The Emotion boxes are linked to the 1 on 1 chat emotion buttons
  • The Top pictures are public and are not linked to your 1 on 1 chat application

 

Stringers

  • Manage and create new topics with the create new string link
  • As the author of the original string, you can delete entire threads, comments, and replies
  • A year’s worth of content will be stored
  • Do not forget to take advantage of the privacy settings when creating strings

 

What’s New

 

  • Click the Avastring link at the top left corner of the page
  • This page will display the latest updates from Friends and Avastring announcements

 

1 on 1 Chat

 

  • Disclaimer: when all participants within a group or chat session exit, all chat content will be purged.
  • The chat application will stay ‘as is’ when navigating throughout site
  • The first set of buttons control the background (either member can change)
  • The second set of buttons are linked to your emotions gallery (this will change the avatar’s head box)
  • The emotion word will be displayed in the avatar’s head box if you do not have an emotion image

 

Search

 

  • Selecting the pyramid will bring you to the welcome page unless you level up
  • Your current Avarank dictates which buildings you have access to
  • Higher ranking members can enter lower dimensions

 

Inside a building

 

Search Results Bar

  • The green/red icon next to the profile name is the online/offline status icon
  • The head and shoulders icon is the friend request button
  • The icon that looks like two photos is the view profile button
  • The chat icon will send an interested alert to become friends
  • The blue number indicates the member’s Avarank
  • If a member does not have a default gallery image, you will see the question mark

 

Filter Selection

  • The Search name bar will return all search results relating to the content entered
  • Use the Pick a gender filter to isolate Females or Males
  • Use the Select a status to isolate availability
  • The Age Range will return members in your selected age band(s)
  • Higher ranking members can enter lower dimensions, use the Avarank section to filter accordingly
  • The Avarating section will filter members by their average Avarating (we do round up)
  • The US Zip Code section searches 50 miles from the point of origin

 

Personality Selection

  • This section depends on which personality traits members selected in their home tab
